Kildare Juvenile League – Explained

Like any sports club, all Juveniles are reasonably expected to participate in competition events throughout the year but the club especially expects our young members to attend the annual Kildare League.

The Kildare League is an enjoyable annual club event for our young athletes to compete against other Kildare clubs in the area.

Kildare Athletics Association promote the inclusivity of all juvenile athletes in Kildare Athletic Clubs from age groups U8 to U13.

The various Kildare clubs are divided into two regional groups:

North County Kildare Clubs:

Le Cheile, St. Cocas, Celbridge, Tir Mona & Eire Og, Clane

South County Kildare Clubs:

Newbridge, Suncroft, Naas, Kildare, Crookstown Millview

The competition days are spread out over 3 or 4 days during the Springtime / early Summertime months and all our juvenile members are required to attend each of the designated league days and participate in TWO events every league day.

For each of the events the Juveniles participate in, they earn club points corresponding to the position they finished in.

Athletes must complete both of the chosen events in their age group in order to score….only participating in one event results in no score.

All the athletes eligible points are accumulated then over each of the league days.

On the final league day the total club points awarded from the combined efforts from our athletes over all of the league days will be added up.

This will contribute to an over all club score, and highest scoring club will be awarded the title of winner of the league! Yay!!
