Weekly roundup, great success for Le Chéile at home and abroad
Well done to the Le Chéile athletes in action in recent days. Some very impressive performances.
Away from home Patrick Monahan took part in the Seoul marathon wheelchair race in South Korea and braved very tough conditions to come home in 1h32m29s. Brendan Murphy took on the famous TDS (Sur les Traces des Ducs de Savoie) Ultra race in the Italian/French Alps. The race is 146km distance with 9100m height gain. A brilliant achievement to finish in 41h37m! Check out Brendan’s blog about the race here: https://maths.ucd.ie/~brendan/TDS2019.pdf
Back at home Karl Fitzgerald was the winner of the East of Ireland 50k. The race took place close to Donadea and Karl finished in a brilliant time of 3h36m. A really super performance and shows he is in great shape at the moment. Brendan Kearney was also in action in the Tullamore half marathon, incorporating the Leinster half marathon championships. He finished in 1h21m11s. Results from that race here: https://www.myrunresults.com/events/leinster_half_marathon_championships_tullamore/3396/results
